Course Syllabus
1.Computer Fundamentals & Office Automation
- Basic computer concepts: hardware, software, input/output devices, memory.
- Operating systems (e.g., Windows)
- Word processing (Microsoft Word)
- Spreadsheets (Microsoft Excel)
- Presentations (PowerPoint)
- Database (MS Access or similar)
- Computer communication and Internet: email, browsers, chat, search.
2.Concepts of Financial Accounting
- Introduction to accounting and its principles.
- Bookkeeping basics: journal, ledger, trial balance.
- Inventory categories, cost centers, groupings.
- Invoicing / billing.
- Payroll (salary, DA, HRA, PF, ESI etc.)
- Taxation: GST (Goods and Services Tax) basics.
3.Preparation of Accounting Books Using Accounting Packages
- Practical accounting using Tally (or equivalent accounting software) to create books, ledgers, vouchers etc.
- Recording various kinds of accounting entries (sales, receipts, payment, contra), trial balance, profit & loss, balance sheet.
4.Concepts of Desktop Publishing Software
- Basics of desktop publishing: page layout, designing, editing text.
- Using tools: selection, transformation, layers, masks.
- Effects, filters, path tools, graphics manipulation.
- Possibly working with software like PageMaker, Photoshop (depending on center).
5.On-Job Training / Project Work
- Students will do a project or real-world assignment to apply what they learned. (30 hrs)
- This helps in practical exposure — accounting entries, DTP work, or combined tasks.
6.Employability Skills
- Soft skills, communication, possibly basics of entrepreneurship.
- Preparing for workplace environments: office etiquette, customer handling, etc.
